Gymnema is a woody, climbing plant common in central and southern India. Its Hindi name, gur-mar, means "destroyer of sugar", and gymnema is used in traditional Ayurvedic practices. The leaves of gymnema contain triterpene saponins called gymnemic acids, and this product is guaranteed to contain 75% gymnemic acids.
